Installation Tips

1. Turn off and unplug the filter before servicing.
2. Remove the existing strainer foam from the intake strainer.
3. Rinse the new foam with aquarium water before installation.
4. Slide the foam securely over the intake strainer.
5. Restart the filter and confirm unrestricted water flow.
6. Clean the foam regularly using aquarium water to preserve beneficial bacteria and replace it when worn or damaged.

Note: For new EHEIM Wet/Dry filters, the strainer foam is primarily intended for the initial running-in period (approximately 6–8 weeks). Once the biological filter media is fully established, EHEIM recommends removing the foam pre-filter during normal operation.
